We’ve chosen the name Menaud to pay tribute to Félix-Antoine Savard’s 1937 book titled “Menaud, maître-draveur”.

We always aspire to use more ingredients from Charlevoix in our spirits and to only make products in line with what botanicals are available in our area. We’re proud to say that most of the ingredients we use come from right here in Charlevoix and elsewhere in Quebec.

When it comes to beer, the process of only using local ingredients is a bit trickier. Especially when it comes to primary ingredients such as yeast and hops. That’s why we strive to showcase at least one local ingredient in each beer.

Please note that we are open on public holidays. However, the holiday schedule varies each year. 

Absolutely! Our indoor room and terrace are open for tastings.

We do not take any reservations no matter the size of your party. 

You can book before or after our opening hours, during the low season. Write to info@menaud.ca for more details.

You can purchase all our products, as well as a few exclusive ones, at our distillery and brewery.

We do not offer guided tours of our facilities. However, you can taste our spirits and beers on site (at the bar or terrace) and/or purchase products to go.

We do not serve food on site.

You can bring your kids with you. 

Dogs are allowed on the terrace but not inside the building.

Our stills are the same shape as our bottles. They were designed by Olivier Raymond and made on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

SPIRITS AND BEERS

We purchase all our grains directly from the Harvey family on Isle-aux-Coudres.

Currently, our neutral alcohol is only used to produce our own spirits. Because of the quantities we use, we cannot sell any to other distilleries for now.

We recommend drinking them neat or on the rocks to start. Then you can add a bit of sparkling water. If you’re looking for inspiration, check out our recipes in the Cocktails section of our website.

We recommend keeping the bottles in a cool, dark room. That way the liquid’s taste won’t change over time. But we know our bottles are quite the showpiece so you can place them wherever you want as long as they are not exposed to direct light.

None of our spirits contain gluten or lactose. However, because our grains are ground in our production facilities, we cannot guarantee that there has not been any cross-contamination. If you would like to find out more, please check the list of ingredients on each product page.

All our beers contain gluten while some of them also contain lactose. Please check the list of ingredients on each product page.

We sell cans on site you can use to refill your Menaud Gin bottle.

For now, only gin is sold in cans for the purposes of refilling your bottle.

Yes, you can fill it on site.

You can purchase a keg of your favourite beer at our brewery. We will also require a deposit.

Because we produce our spirits and beers with grains, fruit, yeast, etc., they may contain sediments. All of us at Menaud love sediments. They’re a natural part of the process.

Our Maria and Génépi gins are only available for purchase at our Charlevoix distillery. Quantities are limited because the botanicals we use to make these spirits are rare.

ONLINE ORDERS, DELIVERY, RETURNS

Unfortunately, our products are not available for sale online.

We do not ship spirits and beers.

We only ship spirits outside Quebec, in Ontario, New-York, Germany and France.

If the spirit was purchased in a retailer, please contact your store for more information about their return and refund policy. The same goes for where you purchased our beer products.

If you purchased your products at our distillery and brewery and want to return them, please write to us at info@menaud.ca.

RETAILERS

All our spirits are available for sale at our distillery in Charlevoix. Most of them are also available in SAQ stores across Quebec. You can find a store by checking their website. You can also purchase our spirits in Ontario, New-York, Germany, and France.

ENVIRONMENT

By-products are created when we produce spirits and beer. The spent grains are sent to local farmers, including La Ferme des Quatre-Temps and La ferme Éboulmontaise. 

We also try to limit our use of packaging from non-renewable resources such as plastic. Furthermore, the cardboard we use for our packaging is mostly made from recycled material. Finally, we’ve created an initiative to reduce our use of glass. It is also possible to purchase gin refills in an aluminum can.

Our spirit bottles are not refundable, but you can place them in your recycling bin or even use them as a vase or water carafe. You can also keep them for a refill. Beer cans and bottles are all recyclable or refundable.

Our name is an homage to a book titled “Menaud, maître-draveur” (Menaud, log driver), written by Félix-Antoine Savard and published in 1937. Mr. Savard was also the founding priest of the Clermont parish who believed we were all born to create. He thought that only the brave could embrace nature and all its majesty, that craftsmen knew how to respect the land and that they were in the best position to advocate for its conservation. He also believed that it is only through generosity that these individuals can achieve their own sense of independence and freedom.

At Menaud, we are committed to perpetuating a legacy of know-how while paying tribute to the product itself. Inspired by our master brewers and their desire to always innovate, we are proud to offer you exceptional products that represent the fruit of this labour. As the first distillery-microbrewery in the Charlevoix region, we want to share our passion with you, and we want to serve as a guide for artisans and amateurs alike.

Return Policy

To return one or more items from an order, all of the following conditions must be met:

Return must be requested within 30 days of the delivery date. Item must be in its original condition, so unused, unaltered and must not have been washed. Item must be returned with the tags and packaging in their original condition. Please note that final sales are not eligible for return. 

The client must pay for all handling fees related to returns.

Non-alcoholic beverages : Returns for damaged or defective products purchased on site or online must be approved by our team at info@menaud.ca. Beverages purchased from another retailer are subject to that retailer’s return policy.


Alcoholic beverages : If you have ordered one of the alcoholic beverages for delivery to an address in the USA, your order will be handled by licensed, third-party retailers in the AccelPay network, and your transaction will be facilitated through those retailers. AccelPay’s Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, ecommerce and payment terms and any other terms and conditions set forth by AccelPay apply to any purchase you make via AccelPay and are between you and the third-party retailers in the AccelPay network. We do not accept any responsibility for delivery of orders of alcoholic beverages within the USA.


For your reference, please find AccelPay’s Terms of Service, which include information about any orders you make from them, at the following https://www.accelpay.io/company/legal. Please regularly check the accelpay website to view the then-current accelpay terms.


If you have ordered one of the alcoholic beverages for delivery to an address in Canada, your order will be handled by Menaud. Returns for damaged or defective products purchased on site or online must be approved by our team at info@menaud.ca. Alcoholic beverages purchased from another retailer are subject to that retailer’s return policy.

Clothing: All the original tags must be still attached to the garments. Be mindful of deodorant, makeup or perfume that may rub off, and beware of jewelry that may catch or tear fabric.

Perfume, candles and body care: Products must be returned in their original packaging unused and unaltered. All products shipped sealed must be returned in the same condition, sealed. 

Menaud reserves the right to reject any returning products that do not comply with the above stated return policy. Rejected items will be sent back to the original shipping address without any refund being processed. In order to avoid this, please contact our customer service team to address any issues or concerns you have regarding the item(s) you wish to return.

When requesting a return, customers must ensure to keep the return postage receipt until the refund is duly processed by Menaud. Menaud reserves the right to refuse any request for a return without this mandatory proof of return postage.

Can I change my order?


Unfortunately, orders cannot be edited after they are placed. If you need to cancel your order, please email support@accelpay.io before the order ships.


Can I return my order?


Orders that contain alcohol cannot be returned or exchanged. If you received the wrong item in your order, please email support@accelpay.io and we will make it right.


Can I cancel my order?


Orders may be requested to be canceled until they are shipped. A request to cancel does not guarantee cancellation. Please send requests to support@accelpay.io.


Can I get a refund?


We can process refunds on a case by case basis. Please send us a photo of the damaged or incorrect shipment to support@accelpay.io.


What happens if my order arrives damaged


If your order arrives damaged, our team will work to make it right! Send us an email support@accelpay.io with a photo of the damaged order and we will coordinate a reshipment within 3 business days.

Non-alcoholic order or merchandise

To initiate a return, please contact us through our email address at info@menaud.ca.  Returns of purchased items online are accepted in store. Therefore, our shipments do not include a return slip inside the box.

Guest Orders: If you placed your order as a guest, you must create a Menaud account in order to request and manage a return yourself. If you don’t want to create yourself an account, you can contact our Customer service team to help you facilitate the return.

Customers receive free shipping for returns in Canada.

Please follow this procedure  to initiate a return request:

Step 1 - Login to your Menaud account to access your “Order History”

Step 2 - Request a prepaid return label (PPL)

Step 3 - Your PPL and return instructions will be sent to the e-mail address associated with the order.

Please note that when returning products that contain alcohol (such as fragrances) or batteries, a customer experience agent will be in touch with you within one business day to advise you on necessary shipping instructions and required documentation.

Step 4 - Print the label out and carefully follow the instructions

Exchanges

Menaud does not offer direct exchanges. We ask that you return the merchandise for a full refund and place a new order for the preferred item(s) at your earliest convenience.

Refunds

Once the returned merchandise has been quality checked and approved, Menaud will issue a refund to the original method of payment and a confirmation e-mail will be sent to you. Please note that it can take up to 5 business days to process the refund. It may take your financial institution additional time to process the transaction and update your bank statement.

Please note: shipping fees will not be refunded.

Frequent returns

We offer a lenient return policy to provide customers with an easy and convenient shopping experience. If you are experiencing sizing issues or consistently finding merchandise to be unsatisfactory, please contact our Customer Service team.

Frequent returns made from the same account will automatically be flagged in our system. If we notice that our return policy is being abused, we may take action in the form of blocking an account and/or cancelling future orders.

Menaud reserves the right to reject returns which do not comply with our Return Policy. Returns that do not respect the policy may be sent back to the original shipping address without refunds.

Tracking information

Alcoholic beverage order for delivery in the USA


Orders only fulfill to the continental US only, and in all states except: AK, HI, MS, UT. Please note we cannot ship to a PO Box. Standard shipping is 5-7 business days. Your product will be delivered straight to your door and any order containing alcohol will require an adult signature and ID check upon delivery.


Who will ship my product?


Our product is being shipped by a 3rd party partner (AccelPay's retailer network). Orders containing spirits are fulfilled by licensed 3rd party retailers in the Accelpay network. Retailers use a variety of fulfillment carriers including GLS and UPS. If your order contains both spirits and merch, it will be sent in separate shipments. See below for details.

Orders are generally processed and shipped within 1-2 working days. Orders placed on holidays or weekends will begin processing the next business day. Once your order has been shipped, you will receive an e-mail with your shipment’s tracking information, allowing you to keep tabs on the progress of your delivery.

Please note: tracking information will be updated online one (1) business day after your order has been shipped.

The shipping cost will be calculated according to the country of destination and not the weight. The price will adjust in your cart. Free shipping for 100$+ orders.

Any address entry error during the order process resulting in return fees for the package and/or requiring a new shipment will be the responsibility of the customer. Similarly, any product return due to an error not attributable to our service will incur reshipping fees borne by the customer.
